How can I protect myself from being scammed?

Knowledge and caution — these help to protect you from being misled. Here are some general guidelines to assist you guard against dishonest vendors:

1. Check Feedback

Whenever you want to deal with a vendor, don't forget to look at the "feedback" section. It aids in verifying the individual's dependability. Reviews are left by customers who have dealt with a specific vendor in order to tell other customers about their experiences. Before closing a deal, take a moment to read reviews. Any experience you have, please share it with other consumers — they will be grateful.


2. Avoid sending payments outside FMT marketplace.

Ensure you start and end your deals on FMT marketplace. Make payments using our payment gateways (See payment channel support for more details)

3. Ensure you confirm the date of manufacture, expiry date, and NAFDAC registration number of the product you want to purchase from the vendor before making payments.


4. Ensure that you inspect your item on delivery.

Inspect your delivery carefully. Don’t give a scammer the opportunity to swap it.


5. Never give out your financial details that can be exploited.

Be cautious and avoid scams and frauds such as fake payment services, fee requests, or requests to use money transfer services other than those provided by FMT.


6. Apply common sense

Please stay away from anything that seems too good to be true, such as unrealistically low prices or offers of quick returns.

Remember, the safest deals are the best offers.
